The 100th anniversary of the death of Georg Schweinfurth, a collector and researcher of great importance to the Berlin museums, is the occasion for a special exhibition dedicated to him. As a tireless traveler, cartographer, botanist, and researcher in various fields, he not only acquired a wide range of objects but also left behind a large number of scholarly writings. The exhibition therefore presents not only stone artifacts, ethnographic items, vessels, textiles, and scientific samples from archaeologically documented contexts, but also a variety of original manuscripts in his own hand.
