Reports Chronological (text sometimes only in German)

Jan. 2025: People: With great sadness the Egyptian-German Mission and the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung Berlin learned of the sudden passing of Osama Amer Mohey Eldin Mohamed on 9th January 2025.

Born on 22nd August 1980 in Aswan, Osama Amer has dedicated himself to the cultural heritage of Egypt as a highly committed inspector of antiquities. In 2014, it was thanks to him and a group of young inspectors that a previously unknown necropolis in Aswan-Gharb was saved for Egyptology. Since 2014, our team at the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung Berlin has worked closely with him in Aswan, and we have come to appreciate and love his friendly, honest and respectful way of working, as well as his passion for his country and its cultural treasures. In a special way, it was his sense of honour and the importance of fairness that have always guided his actions and will continue to be a great incentive for us. With great sadness we have been informed that our esteemed colleague and friend passed away on 9th January at the age of only 44. Our thoughts are with his family: his mother and sister and all our friends in Aswan. We are missing him. We will dedicate the publication of the tomb of User to our dear colleague and friend Osama.
